Electronics manufacturing has to keep step with rapidly-increasing demands if it is to continue offering efficiency and flexibility – in the highest quality and at competitive prices. Based on absolutely stable processes and reproducible parameters, the high-performance Ersa wave soldering systems ensure the customer top standards when it comes to quality, costs and delivery service. Ersa has now expanded this segment to include a new system offering attractive value-for-money: the high-performance POWERFLOW AIR wave soldering system – technologically state of the art with process-relevant components made in Germany as motors, control units, nozzles – the final assembly takes place in the Chinese Kurtz Ersa production site Zhuhai.

Suitable for individual configuration: POWERFLOW concept

A standard feature of modern wave soldering machines today is a spray system – as also seen on the POWERFLOW AIR. In the area of fluxers, Ersa offers numerous innovative solutions – no matter which one is chosen, they are all system-compatible and economical in terms of flux consumption and speed of processing. With the intuitive ERSASOFT, the product-specific spray area can be graphically defined in the POWERFLOW AIR, with positive effects on flux consumption. Like the other members of the POWERFLOW family, the “AIR” can be variously configured depending on requirements: In addition to medium wave and short wave infrared heating modules, convention heating is also available for pre-heating. Thanks to their dynamic reaction, short-wave heater cassettes are recommended for mixed production. Convection modules really play to their strengths when large, high-mass components need to be heated on a specific side, or temperature-sensitive components are in use, so that overheating has to be avoided in the pre-heating process. All these requirements are met by the POWERFLOW concept with an individually-configurable and modularly extendable pre-heating concept. In the soldering module, the POWERFLOW AIR relies on the proven Ersa double-wave soldering technique on the basis of which the soldering aggregate has been completely redesigned and adapted to market requirements. With three soldering nozzle combinations, the user-friendly soldering aggregate permits the optimum alignment of the processes to the requirements of the user – among other features, the long wetting period and the wave height of 16 mm are impressive, optionally available is a nitrogen hood.
