Wertheim/San Diego, March 02, 2018

From 27 February to 1 March, the APEX EXPO took place in the Californian city of San Diego. Both the number of visitors as well as direct contacts prove that the most important electronics trade fair in the United States has regained its former status. DISCOVER SMART TECHNOLOGIES was the motto of system supplier Ersa also at the US fair, and – as it already did during Productronica – it aroused strong interest with the professional visitors from the electronic manufacturing industry. Certain exhibits were especially in the spotlight – like the newly developed Ersa HR 600 XL hybrid rework system for example, since there is an urgent need for big board repair systems in the US. There was also a great demand for the HR 550 und HR 600 systems, which were introduced in 2017 and have become the off-the-shelf systems for “regular-sized” PCBs. The soldering tools range was rounded off by the manual soldering and desoldering stations Ersa i-CON VARIO 2 and 4, as well as by the EASY ARM solder fume extractions that provide for clean air at the workspace.

From its machine range, Ersa presented as US premiere the new stencil printer VERSAPRINT 2 ULTRA³. During the first weeks after Productronica already, Ersa sold and installed machines of this new stencil printer generation in the USA. The exhibited system was sold directly on the fair – a good demonstration of the technical necessity of this two-in-one system combining stencil printing and solder paste inspection. A further highlight besides the POWERFLOW wave soldering system was the VERSAFLOW 4/55 selective soldering system, which convinced with its competitive advantages due to its unique flexibility and stands proof of the leading role of Ersa also in the USA. Overall this has been a successful trade fair, which also underlined our decades of presence in America with offices in the United States and Mexico. Meanwhile our team in the US and Mexico has over 50 employees – ensuring the best service and process support for our customers,” Ersa General Sales Manager Rainer Krauss stated at the final day of the APEX fair.
