Wertheim / Sofia, 06.04.2017
For the first time, systems supplier Ersa organized a seminar on soldering, rework and inspection technology in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia on 5 April 2017. Nikolay Momchilov, Manager ERSA Bulgaria Ltd., welcomed over 50 interested participants to this event, taking place at the Novotel Sofia, and presented the two companies ERSA Bulgaria and Ersa GmbH to the visitors. Christian Ott, Ersa Area Sales Manager, then took over the first technical session: During his presentation entitled “Advanced Selective Soldering”, Ott discussed the selective soldering process in general, compared different selective soldering technologies with wave soldering and showed various machine layouts subject to production requirements.
From manual to automated SMT/BGA rework
After the lunch break, the focus was on process control and quality assurance. Two engineers of Viscom AG demonstrated total process control with their software solution Viscom Quality UpLink, before Ersa Area Sales Manager Dietmar Wolpert described the development from manual to automated SMT/BGA rework in his presentation. After an open discussion and Q&A session on soldering, theory turned into practice: The hands-on session with the Ersa HR 550 rework system – winner of the NPI award – was next on the agenda. Dietmar Wolpert demonstrated advantages and performance of a guided rework process. Of course, visitors also had the possibility to try the HR 550 themselves. For this purpose, visitors had been invited to bring their own assemblies to the technical seminar. So now, they experienced how rework quality and productivity could considerably be improved for their specific application using the HR 550, which provides repeatable rework processes any time. “The first technology seminar by ERSA Bulgaria and Ersa GmbH in Sofia was an outstanding success. We have received great feedback from our guests – both on the professional level of the seminar as well as the request for further events in order to further strengthen the know-how transfer in Bulgaria”, ERSA Bulgaria Manager Nikolay Momchilov said in review of the Technology Seminar.
