Wertheim/Shenzhen, 31.08.2017

With the rallying cry, “Let the west wind in. Wealth is glorious,” Deng Xiaoping, proclaimed the opening of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in 1980 – at the same time sounding the starting shot for a highly-dynamic business development: as a consequence, many companies, primarily from the electronics and telecommunication industry, moved to the south of China. Therefore hardly surprising that all the big players in the sector assembled at NEPCON South China in Shenzhen from 29 to 31 August – now being held for the 23rd time.

Kurtz Ersa Asia, as an engineering leader for all types of soldering, was also represented with an impressive stand. Among other things presented were various solutions for manual soldering – e.g. the innovative HR 600/2 rework station, which permits a variety of automated process steps for unsoldering, placement and soldering numerous electronic components. In addition, it can be coupled with further Ersa equipment such as the EASY ARM solder fumes extractor – a feature that went down very well with the trade visitors.

Crowd puller HOTFLOW 3/20

Among the soldering systems, the almost seven-meter-long HOTFLOW 3/20 reflow soldering system was a real crowd puller. Kurtz Ersa has been producing this type of machine in its Chinese plant in Zhuhai since June 2013, in order to be able to meet short delivery times demanded by the customers. In addition, with the VERSAFLOW 4/55, Ersa presented the next generation of worldwide leading inline selective soldering systems: with automatic y-variable fluxer axis, y/z-variable double-pot and the intuitive ERSASOFT 5 operating software, the system reaches new dimensions of flexibility and productivity.

A further exhibit was the VERSAFLOW 3/45, for its part the most successful selective soldering machine and to be found in almost every electronics manufacturing facility. Due to its great popularity, Ersa has further developed the 3/45 system; first systems with VERSASCAN subassembly monitoring and VERSAEYE quality control have already been delivered to the production facilities of Chinese customers. Last, but not least, mention should be made of one system which stands out from all the other machinery on display, both technically and optically: A transparent glass panel permits an optic inspection of the POWERFLOW N2, a wave soldering system geared to mass production – a detail which customers with 24/7 operation particularly appreciate. “The entire event was highly successful for the Ersa team, with an emerging trend at Chinese fairs evident once again: quality rather than quantity among the visitors,” said Ersa General Sales Director Rainer Krauss, with obvious satisfaction.
