Third Technology Day in Bulgaria

Ersa and the local partner Ersa Bulgaria have welcomed more than 50 participants to the "Technology Day Bulgaria". Both OEM and EMS manufacturers from all over Bulgaria met on 21 May 2019 at Novotel Sofia for the third edition of this technology event. Focusing on SMT technology in 2018, this year´s event concentrated on THT soldering and automation solutions.

Quality assurance and traceability of the assemblies are extremely important in electronics production. The possibilities of Industry 4.0 in wave and selective soldering together with automatic monitoring and verification of the THT component placement on the board before the soldering process, AOI of the solder joints as well as acquisition and provision of production data were therefore the main topics in the technical presentations and discussions. Guest speaker Dr. Nils Kopp from TAMURA ELSOLD GmbH gave insights into the application areas of different solders and fluxes. The insights gained from the last technology presentation of the day on the subject of rework were directly put into practice in a hands-on session with the HR 550 hybrid rework system.
