Visible sign of further growth
Ground-breaking at Ersa for more production and office areas

Wertheim, 19.07.2018
With high summer temperatures near 30 °C, Kurtz Ersa CEO Rainer Kurtz welcomed the entire Ersa workforce, building partners and guests for the long-awaited ground-breaking ceremony at the Ersa location in Wertheim: “At last the time has come for us here and now to extend our production and office areas at the Ersa location with the ground-breaking ceremony. As a result of innovative technology and worldwide presence, we have grown more strongly than could be planned and could have been compensated with additional areas.” With a view to the increasing tightness of space, the time had come a year ago to create facts. After the fundamental decision in favour of the Wertheim location, the Ersa planning team drew up a staggered concept for further growth. The Menig & Partner architects´ office contributed a matching building application, which brought about quick approval for construction in close cooperation with the Wertheim authorities. Only a few days before, Kurtz Ersa had concluded a further construction project with the central warehouse in Kreuzwertheim-Wiebelbach, with which the machine builders are raising their commodity management system to an Industrie-4.0 level. The logistic handling of parts and components is already flowing from the central warehouse in the direction of Ersa GmbH and to other Kurtz Ersa locations.
Opposite the current Ersa machine factory in Leonhard-Karl-Street in Bestenheid, a production and administrative building for machines for electronic production will be created in two phases, which means a considerable extension of production capacity for Ersa GmbH – the building project for 10 mill. Euros will mean a further 1,000 m² of production area in the first section until April 2019, with a further 2,000 m² following by the end of 2019. In addition, around 1,600 m² of office area including social rooms will be built. Kurtz Ersa CEO Rainer Kurtz was optimistic that the planned completion of both sections of building was feasible – Riedel Bau from Schweinfurt has been obtained as a tried and tested partner and general contractor, as in previous successful projects. Before the actual start of construction, the Kurtz Ersa boss requested understanding from the employees in advance that there might be limitations in the sequence of production until the conclusion of the construction measures. “But I am convinced that this will have a positive effect for us all in the long term in every regard. I wish the Riedel Bau team, the architects and the people involved in the construction successful, secure and speedy construction – good luck!,” Rainer Kurtz shouted into the summer sky, before all those present were able to enjoy some snacks.
