Chemical silver
A Pcb surface treatment consisting of an electroless deposited silver layer, which protects the copper of the areas to be soldered from oxidization. To further increase the storage ability, this silver layer can also be protected from oxidization by coating it with an organic based protective layer. Silver is used because of its excellent wetting characteristics and because it does not form, at the interface to copper, an intermetallic layer.
