Chloride

Chlorides are compounds with the element Chlorine. Ammonium chlorides and tin chlorides are found in fluxes used in electronic manufacturing. Because of their acidic nature, any residue left on the board assembly can lead to massive corrosion. Since they are water soluble, assemblies have to undergo a water washing cycle after having been soldered.
