Coefficient of expansion
Measure for the dimensional change of a material when being heated up. In the field of electronics, the term CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) is frequently used. A common unit of measure is ppm. A CTE of 20 ppm means, that a material of 1 meter length will have expanded by 20 µm for every 1°C rise in temperature.
