Electrolytic capacitor (ELCAP)

ELCAP is the acronym for electrolytic capacitor. This is a polarized capacitor, with a metal as the anode and an electrolyte as the cathode. The electrolyte may be a conducting liquid. The advantage of these capacitors is a relatively high capacitance density.
