Lead

Alloying element in soldering material. Up until its prohibition through RoHS by the EU, lead was, next to tin, the most frequently used element in soft solders. The eutectic tin-lead solder excels especially through its ideal mechanical characteristics in regards to strength while at the same time remaining ductile.
