Microstructure

The microstructure is in the material sciences the order of (the lamellar structure) of crystals and particles, which is formed during the cool down process of a liquid metal or an alloy. Microstructures are made visible through micro-sectioning probes and their subsequent observation with large magnification under a microscope. Frequently it is required to etch with an acid the polished surface of the section to view the lamellar structure.
