Optical Inspection
Optical inspection is the process step in which a solder joint is visually inspected so that a judgment can be made about the quality of the joint. To view even the smallest details, additional resources are used to heighten the level of inspection. This may be simple magnifying glasses, or stereo zoom microscopes with 10 – 45 fold magnification. Frequently, the microscopes are equipped with cameras so that the findings can be document and digital pictures be taken.
