Oxide Skin
In many of the oxidization processes, a thin oxide layer is formed on the oxidizing base material. On liquid material, such as solder, an oxide skin is formed on the surface of the molten solder. This is a thin layer consisting of solid particles which swim on top of the solder. This layer can be visibly recognized due to its coloration.
