Palladium

Palladium is a silvery-white metal with the atomic number 46. It belongs to the family of platinum metals, and displays a chemical behavior that is similar to platinum. In the printed circuit board industry, palladium is used, in combination with nickel and gold, as a PCB surface. In the wave soldering process palladium, which accumulates in the solder bath, gives rise to an increased formation of bridges and shorts.
