Process Window
The term process window defines the limits within which a process has to run in order to assure that the best quality of product is manufactured. In the manufacture of electronic assemblies, it is the soldering process which, on account of the high thermal load on the complete assembly, is the determining process. The lower limit of the process window is given by the requirement of thermal energy by the solder joints, whereas the upper limit is given by the heat resistance of the components.
