Self Centering
The term self-centering stands for the ability of a SMT component to autonomously align itself to the correct position during the reflow soldering process. When the solder paste has melted and the component has wetted, the wetting force in conjunction with the surface tension of the solder will pull the component, even if it is a large offset, into the correct position on the pad.
