SMD
SMD stands for surface mount devise. SMD’s are components intended to be mounted on printed circuit boards. They do not have any lead s or pins, but rather solderable (metallized) connection surface; they are placed into solder paste and soldered in a reflow system. With that technology, resistors, capacitors, crystals, diodes, transistors, coils and integrated circuits are being manufactured.
