Strength
Strength describes the resistance of material to withstand plastic deformation. Strength is dependent on the type of material, strain, temperature and the speed of the application of a load. The most important measurable strength is the tensile strength. This is important for civil engineering as well as for mechanical engineering. It will have influence on the design of components, on the shape of solder joints and many other aspects of manufacturing.
