Thermography

IR radiation can be made visible with thermography. Through displaying the radiation in shades of color, temperature distributions can be made visible. It is a process to optically, non-destructively test and evaluate components and joints. Internal and external faults can be made visible. At a solder joint, one side is being heated up, and the flow of heat energy is observed. If deviations form a golden board can be seen, this might indicate that a fault is present. This test can be automated.
