Tin

Tin is a silvery-white, soft metal with the atomic number 50, which has a very low melting point of 232°. In its liquid state, tin is also referred to as the acid of the metals. Liquid tin has the property to interact at their border layer with numerous metals, with the result, that the two metals diffuse and form a material bond. These properties make tin especially suitable as a component of soldering alloys.
