In 2018, after a break of two years, Kurtz Particle Foam Machines took part once again in Chinaplas, presenting the latest technologies for the plastics branch to the Asian public. Over 180,000 interested trade visitors and decision makers travelled to Shanghai to inform themselves about innovations in the area of plastic processing machines, raw materials for plastics and finished products on the around 340,000 sqm exhibition area. On the four days of the fair, approx. 4,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries displayed their products.
The world market leader in the processing of particle foam, Kurtz – represented by Kurtz Ersa Asia Ltd. – presented highlights from its current product portfolio on an area of 96 sqm. These included the new Kurtz moulding machines and smart software solutions such as the intelligent Kurtz Injector Maintenance 4.0, the Kurtz Eject Control 4.0 and the Kurtz Central Monitoring System. Great interest was generated by the Kurtz automation solutions and the new radio-frequency technology (RF) for processing high-temperature materials (currently still at the development stage).
The Kurtz stand concept was based on digital presentations in the form of videos, animations and digital consultation places and thus created a virtual demo centre for the entire Kurtz particle foam machinery range. A huge attraction and a real magnet for visitors was the virtual reality application of the Kurtz PRO FOAMER, the moulding machines for high-end processing of EPS and EPP with up to 5 bar. In this way, trade visitors were able to view the Kurtz PRO FOAMER up close and from all sides, even without an exhibit, and closely examine details such as tools and injectors. Further highlights were the Kurtz ROTO FOAMER moulding machine used, for example, for foaming rear seats for the automotive sector, the Kurtz THERMO FOAMER, featuring the THERMO SELECT process which is the basis for adhesive-like bond of particle foam and other plastics, as well as the new Kurtz BOX FOAMER with electric drive for fish box and fruit box production.
